After the Jedi Order™ is all but eradicated, Obi-Wan hides on Tatooine™, watching over Luke Skywalker™ and waiting to teach him the ways of The Force™. Finally, fate intervenes and together they set out to deliver the Death Star™ plans. En route, Obi-Wan begins instructing Luke in the ways of The Force and Lightsaber™ combat, but the group is forced to board the Death Star. There the Jedi Master™ encounters Darth Vader™, his former student turned Sith™. They duel, and Obi-Wan willingly accepts his death so that Luke and his allies can escape.

Later, the disembodied voice of Obi-Wan speaks to Luke and guides him to use the Force, not his ship's technology, to destroy the Death Star. "The Force will be with you," Obi-Wan's voice tells Luke. "Always."
